Hood was developed originally by an early Oregon settler on his private land. It is an unicorporated community in the beautiful Hood River County, but it’s only a half hour east of Gresham, Oregon, and an hour east of Portland. It’s very close to the grand Columbia River, the largest river in the Pacific Northwest that runds from Alberta, Canada, through Washington state, into Oregon, and out into the Pacific Ocean.
